He's threatening to drop his support if the bill is "materially changed" in conference committee from what is in the Senate's version.

*fudge* you! Like you get to automatically trump what the House put into their version of the bill. *goshdarn* *bunghole*, sock puppet for the insurance industry!

I'm going with the Big Bill Clinton argument:

At this point, take what you can get, and refight the battle later when the ground is a little more advantageous.

We haven't come to terms (yet) with the idea that 'Health Care For Profit' is an oxymoron, and trafficking in human misery is evil by definition.

We'll get there.

But will the ground be more advantageous? All the cost-cutting measures have been stripped out of the Senate bill to appease the "conservative" Democrats and futilely win over the one so-called "moderate" GOP senator. If and when this bill goes into effect and increases overall healthcare costs like some fear, the GOP will say "See what happens when the other side tries to push through legislation?"

Consider this: If you told somebody in 2005 that in 2010 the Dems would have a 60 vote majority in the Senate,  close to a 100 seat advantage in the House, and the POTUS would be a black guy, they would have shipped you off to a loony bin.

You think people (and I'm talking the 30 pct in the middle) don't realize that it was conservatives and the GOP that really *fudge*ed this up?

I think the majority of the people (i.e. voters) don't read enough to know what actually happened.

Effective candidates will remind them. Hacks won't.

Congratulations, America works!
