Wow.  confirmed at espn.

Thanks for everything, Tennessee. Shocked

Tennessee's Lane Kiffin has agreed in principle to become the next head coach at Southern California, sources close to the situation told ESPN.com's Chris Low on Tuesday.

Good luck trying to fill Carroll's while on probation and not having the advantage of cheating like Pete did.  Wink

Man, this WHOLE thing has such epic fail written all over it that even the local sports shock jocks recognize the stench!

I'm really going to miss him down here in SEC-land.  He was going to be a lot of fun.  He is just one of those guys that that attention finds in the way flies always discover a *feces* pile.

My prediction is he crashes and burns at SC.

Anyone can be successful at USC.  Weak Pac 10 schedule.  And all you have to do is ask recruits if they want to play in LA, live in a palatial estate with walls surrounding it full of beautiful women and play in the BCS every year if you basically show up.  Oh and head south for the crack and north for the cocaine and white girls and west for the beach.  Enjoy.

Didn't mean to sound all racisty.  Change last sentence to:  Don't go South, the Money is North by NW and the beach is West.  Enjoy.

Random thoughts about Lane Kiffin:

- In hindsight, now Al Davis looks like the good guy in their past shenanigans, which is not an easy feat.

- He must be incredible in an interview because he seems like an ass every time I see him on TV.  He's definitely a world class bridge burner.  I've burned some bridges at past jobs, but Kiffin cuts quite a swath of destruction in his wake.  He now has the entire state of Tennessee pissed at him to go along with the Raider nation.

- I was shocked when he got the Raiders job, once again when he got the Tennessee gig, and, finally, that he's going to USC.  Clearly I am underestimating this guy.  So I will now make the prediction that he leaves USC in a year to take the Dallas Cowboys head coach spot or a seat in the Senate.
