As posted over at FGI:


Left the snow and cold of Minneapolis Tuesday morning for the warm & sunny beaches of Phuket Thailand. The journey took 26 hours, but I arrived without incident last night at 11:30 local time (cdt +13 hours).

To say that it is a shock to the system would be an understatement. About 89 with lots of humidity.

Booked 5 dive trips with the highlight of them happening next Friday to the Similan Islands. I will be trying out my underwater camera setup for the first time on Saturday. Pic's will be posted sometime after that.

Nice!  I was last in Phuket a few years ago.  At least you get an ocean breeze to help with the humidity compared to other cities there.  I'm not a diver, but the Phi Phi islands and coves were amazing to see.

I believe chefmark from FGI lives in Phuket.
