LOLing at myself...

So, I finally bought an MP3 player, because they're finally cheap enough that WHEN I leave it sitting on a park bench at one of Seattle's half dozen skateparks or in the golf cart I won't be completely pissed at losing thirty bucks.

I got a few songs on it over the weekend. Fear, Black Flag, **** Pistols, you know, The Classics.

Here's the good part:

It didn't really come with any 'Directions' and I couldn't get it to play more than ten seconds of any song, nor could I get it to save a radio station after it had been powered off.

Solution?

Hand it to some twenty something at the skatepark last night, who *fudge*ed with it for ten seconds, and fixed it.

The good part: He can't really explain what he did, because it's all so basic to them that they don't even think about it!

I know it took me forever to figure out the one we got for Maddie.

Turned out to be so complicated we ended up just getting an ipod later.

Believe me, I thought long and hard about it and to be honest my cheapness won out.

That was a few years back when we were at the point where Karen asked what was the difference between and ipod and an MP3 player.

After getting the first one, the frustration level and the overwhelming sense of guilt by not spoiling my daughter with name recognition to best the other kids won out.

Buck fifty well spent.
