steelers, please, please, please offer a fortune to fischer...
Jeff Fischer? Yeah, he did great w/ Tennessee this year. However, I'm not sold on him as a great coach.

I think he has 1 year left on his contract. I think* he can be bought out. The Steeler coaching job should be very desirable. You know you have patient owners, playoff caliber team every year, and a city that will fill happily the stands even when you're 8-8.

I wish they'd get rid of Childress.
Childress gets the award for twerpiest looking NFL head coach. He hasn't been in Minny long. Already wanting to run him out of town? I never wanted the Vikes to hire him! Who did you want? Can't remember anymore. When we didn't get him, I put it from my mind. However, I wish we could get Dungy (sp?) here. My prediction is that the Gophers are going to make him (Dungy) an attractive offer. You heard it here first. And if it doesn't happen the lesson, as usual, is I'm an idiot.

I was on some Bengals message boards yesterday amusing myself by reading their outrage, anguish and pain. Cincy fans are trying to pawn Marvin Lewis on the Steelers. I've heard only three names mentioned as successors for Cowher if/when he retires. Russ Grimm Ken Whisenhunt Kirk Ferentz I think the Steelers will stay within the family and go with Grimm or Whisenhunt. They should be prepared for whichever they don't choose to go elsewhere.

LOL @ Lewis I dunno, I like Fisher's fire (like Old cowher)... and he obviously did something good to get an 8-8 finish out of the titans this year I don't mind the promotion from inside. Not sold on Ferentz. Funniest thing after yesterday was Palmers (paraphrasing here) "yeh its infuriating to lose to such an inferior team"

Actually, I heard it from my dad this morning. However, I would think he would be more interested in a "professional" team's offer more than a college team.

Possibly. But this is his alma mater and would definitely be less stressful than the pros. Also, if Indy doesn't get it done - Super Bowl - quickly, the pressure will mount.
From what I've heard he just might listen to this college offer.
