Haven't tried it. (haven't  needed it )

But I would say go for it.   I can't type good enough to go into the science of it, but it basically should pull your vertebra apart (the upward way ) enough to relieve the pressure on either the nerve that is giving you trouble or release the facet joints that are.

The reason I think this may help is I have gotten some relief from traction in the past. I am desperate at this point. I have been on a steady diet of Vicodin for the past 2 weeks. I think all this is largely due at this time to sitting on my ever fatter ass for way to long, but i have had back trouble for many years. so it is time to try something different.
Thanks for the response stroh.

Any time bud.  The pills as you know are just masking the pain, you need relief from what is causing it.

Most likely a disc that is pressing on the nerve or plain old degenerative changes of the the vertebrae and the facet joints that can only be helped by some intervention.

Either way, without being seen and scanned I can't see where being turned upside down wouldn't give you some relief.  If not just temporarily.

If only there was some readily available herbal remedy that had both pain relieving and muscle relaxing powers that you could avail yourself of.

Funny, I never had back pain back in those days. Coincidence? I think not. Smoking

At this point I have even considered acupuncture. The reality is I know for a fact my problem is all about compression. And with no health insurance and physical therapy costing about $125 a whack my options are limited.

I'm sure you've tried but I found a Chiropractor non-quack that gave me those adjustments and what not.  I was a total skeptic going in but it really worked.  If it wasn't so expensive I'd go all the time.  He's a friend of a friend so is honest not all of his colleagues are either sane and or doing the right thing for their patient and not just turning a profit.  But the root of the adjustments and such has some merit and I noticed results after dealing with back issues from a ruptured disk in my lower back.  Food for thought.  Of course I'm lucky if I see him once a month and I have health insurance sadly.
