Shocked  Nice.  I think my last golf instructor may have turned me off of lessons forever.

What happened? I'm going back to the ****Y pro at Maplewood. She's a'right.

Best money you'll ever spend, seriously. I find it interesting that folks will think nothing about spending 3 or 400 hundred bucks on equipment every year, but turn their noses up at 150 or 200 bucks worth of instruction that will help WAAY more.

Ah, that's right.  I forgot about her.

My last lesson was at a 3 day golf school in Vegas.  I came to the conclusion that I'm probably not going to get much better and should just focus on having fun around the course than trying to improve.  On the other hand, he did offer to arrange meetups in the evenings with stripper/prostitute friends of his, which I declined.

I've done one, and only one, 'Group Lesson' and had similarly piss poor results.

One on one is the way to go. She basically stands behind me and says 'Nice Shot' and 'What Do You Think Went Wrong There?'  I'm usually right, which makes her job of telling me how to fix it alot easier. Sometimes I'm not, but she still has me try to figure it out.

My 2 big problems are setting up too far away from the ball, which makes me reach, and ball position.

She did tell me to narrow up my stance when I started skating again, and we went with a little more leg and hip action.  Devil 'Your balance is really good, you should use that'.

She smells good, too.  Grin

All that said, I wouldn't have a problem with any other reasonably competent person. My alarm bells go off if they start trying to sell me *feces* out of the pro shop, or tell me we need to do alot of work or overhaul something. *fudge* you, my swing is better than 2/3 pf the people on the range when it's good.

LMAO!

Just so we don't think it's all peaches and cream:

I say hello in the pro shop, she hands me my bucket and says 'Go warm up, etc, etc'

So I'm hitting little 9 irons and she walks up and says:

'Let's see a couple of full ones'

Which I promptly pull all over hell. I hear her going in my bag, she says:

'Try 'em again, I want to see something'.

I figure she's going to show me something, BUT:

As I'm setting up, she whacks me in the back of the legs and says:

'I've been telling you to bend your knees forever. Let's try it that way!'

 Shocked

I like it.

Jules will really like it.

Let's hear more.

FTR:  What is it (other than striping every fairway and sticking every green to shoot 62) were you looking to improve on?

I haven't picked up a club in any meaningful way in a year or so, so I just want to get back to where I was, more or less.

She was just pointing out that I'm making the same egregious swing error that I had the FIRST time we met, which was 2 or 3 years ago.

It's a stupid one, and she knows I know better. She's really not going over that ground again.

Not gonna happen, and we've talked about that too:

As my ball striking gets better, I'm  going to try to pull off higher risk shots. I'm OK with that. She told me tonight she thought the break was probably OK, and there was no reason NOT to try to break 80 this year, but I don't really give a *feces* either way.

But that *feces* was funny: She didn't hit me that hard, but she DAMN sure smacked me!

Oh, and I was busting 215 yard 3 irons when I left. Little over with the roll, but sweet and pure.
