My guess is that's symptomatic of people not making a declaration. Given that as far as I can tell there is only one female here (Stegerman notwithstanding), I'd guess only four of us have made a selection.

I think you're right about M:F ratio.  I just specified mine and now the ratio is 5:1.

It would have been funnier if the forum software specified those who didn't declare their gender, kind of like the last.fm demographics:
