Balloon boy, V2.0?
« on: March 11, 2010, 08:21:01 PM »

http://jalopnik.com/54911...e-unintended-acceleration

I'm going with 'Guilty', because anybody douchebaggy enough to blame the Medddiiiiaaarrrggghhhh for reporting verifiable FACTS is a douchebaggy douchebag.

Maybe I'm cynical, but I come at this whole thing from a couple of decades learning that the American motoring public are, by and large, complete *goshdarn* morons.

Do SOME Toyota's experience unintended acceleration issues for reasons not yet clear?

Yes. The floormat fix was a HUGE joke, one of the early signs that they really don't know what the problem is.

Do most of the people who mix the gas and brake pedals up on their Toyota's have a malfunction?

Again, yes. We used to call it the master cylinder actuator, ie the moron driver.

Let's review: IF you experience this, put the *goshdarn* thing in NEUTRAL! That's the one with the N. You won't even have press the oh-so-complicated button on the side of the shifter, or manipulat your column shift.

Next, try to slow down using the brakes. Since the car is no longer under power, this SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM!

A swinger site? No *feces*!

Also, some of the Jalopnik comments are pretty good!

LMAO!

The moment I heard this story on the radio I said "Fake."

Seriously?  Stuck accelerator?  Ok, It's been in the news.  Stuck accelerator and no brakes?   Roll Eyes  I guess I've seen it in the movies.

Put it in neutral like you said.

My thought guide it into the guard rail.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat: American motoring public are, by and large, complete *goshdarn* morons.

And yes, I have had people tell me they did mondo stupid *feces* because they didn't want to *fudge* up the looks of their cars.

During the two 911 calls, Sikes ignored many of the dispatcher's questions, saying later that he had to put his phone on the seat to keep his hands on the wheel.

Leighann Parks, a 24-year-old dispatcher, repeatedly told him to throw the car into neutral but got no answers.

"He was very emotional, you could tell on the line he was panicked," Parks told reporters outside the CHP's El Cajon office. "I could only imagine being in his shoes and being that stressed."

Neibert told Sikes after the CHP caught up with him to shift to neutral but the driver shook his head no. Sikes told reporters he didn't go into neutral because he worried the car would flip.

OK. I'm definitely calling bull*feces*. How many *goshdarn* excuses are you going to come up with for not doing what was obviously the correct thing to do?

LOL  Prius?  Meh.  Who gives a *fudge*?

Indeed.  See I think he would have gotten way more milage* out of that maneuver and way less heat.  He's *fiddlesticks*ed now.

Let's say it's real.  He calls 911 and says I'm doin' 80 with the foot feed stuck, I'm takin' 'er in come find the carnage at mile marker 109, he makes the news, Toyota face palms again and he prolly gets on the news as a hero and paid pretty well.

Say it's fake:  Same deal only he has to sweat the details, and any investigation.

This ass clown blew it like FAWG called it Balloon Boy.

*Milage.  Clivesque.

The Journal said three people familiar with the probe, whom it did not name, said Sikes' brakes didn't show wear consistent with having been applied at full force at high speeds for a long period. Instead, they may have been applied intermittently, the newspaper said.

Toyota Corp. spokesman Mike Michels declined to confirm the report. He said the investigation was continuing and the company planned to release technical findings soon.

Michels said the hybrid braking system in the Prius would make the engine lose power if the brakes and accelerator were pressed at the same time.
