Train table for the young master.  Finished dimensions: 48x34 (outer), 18in tall.  Rounded cutouts on the sides, so that (a) I can retro-fit a drawer underneath, and/or (b) the young lad can crawl under, roll onto his back, put his feet on the underside of the table surface, and push up to break same.

I downloaded the plans from Archlight.net, then modified them to suit my eye and skills.  This is their version of Table 2:

Sweet!  Nice project!  Thanks.

I was planning on some sort of "storage/play center" for Maddie.  Sad part is, I think I can buy the finished product, cheaper than I can "attempt" to reproduce it.

I used nice wood, and raw materials ran me about $90.  I could have gotten a smaller table of melamine or some such at a consignment shop for $50.  Meh.  I like working with my hands, which isn't something I get to do at my job, and I kind of like the notion of building something that my kid can hand down to his kid someday.  Or at least humor me and say he will.

Great looking project.  Can't wait to get back to the states and get my table saw, scroll saw and other good stuff out of storage.
