Silly Question!
« on: May 06, 2010, 03:58:47 PM »

To all you young computer genius's here.

Remember I have dial-up.

If I am looking at a few things on the computer, I usually have a few windows open.
Russell uses the Tabs, instead of the windows as he says it is faster and quicker and thinks the windows slow the computer down more.

Who is right?
Is it quicker to use the windows or the tabs?
Fingers crossed Russell is wrong.

I would guess tabs use fewer resources without doing any research.

You could test it out with task manager.

Darla and I have both found that using tabs is faster, but then we also have high speed internet so it might be relative.

I checked on my laptop and with Google Chrome it doesn't look to make a difference.

However, if you have multiple windows or tabs open they are all accessing the internet at the same time so if you have a limited bandwidth both choices will slow down the internet speed. I would think limiting open windows/tabs would help speed up.

Ultimately you just need to get off dial-up.
