It's this simple:

He's one of the greatest to ever play the game, and it's a damn shame he played most of it here.

He's signed through 2012, and then he can pretty much pick where he wants to go. The class move would be to trade him to a serious contender while he's still got a few years left. I could see him playing until he's past 40 easily.
