But if your 'concern' is that continued deficits that build debt will cause bond downgrades etc, and then nobody will buy them....

Why do you think it's smart to not raise the debt ceiling , default, and GUARANTEE nobody will buy you bonds again?

Am I misunderstanding something, or is this just more cognitive dissonance from the teat4rds and rethugs?
