Ramen Noodle inventor dies
« on: January 10, 2007, 02:35:24 PM »

I never realized that ramen noodles were the work of one guy.  I ate way too many of those during late nights in college.

Mr. Noodle

Quote
The news last Friday of the death of the ramen noodle guy surprised those of us who had never suspected that there was  such an individual.
....
But no. Momofuku Ando, who died in Ikeda, near Osaka, at 96, was looking for cheap, decent food for the working class when he invented ramen noodles all by himself in 1958.
....
Ramen noodles have earned Mr. Ando an eternal place in the pantheon of human progress. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. Give him ramen noodles, and you don’t have to teach him anything.

Stoners and starving college students nationwide plan a synchronized "tribute" in his honor.  Smoking

My son loves those nasty things.  He's twelve with the arteries of an 80 year old.

Anyway, when this news broke I set this photo as his background and locked sys prefs so he couldn't change it.  Hehehe.  Devil

I think he just went through the process.

At the funeral some guy will pour boiling water on him, wait 3 minutes and Hey Presto!
