I don't eat much beef, so I don't go around looking for the best burger joints.  But I will have a BBQ pork sandwich now and again.  My favorite place for that is Bono's Bar-BQ in Atlantic Beach, Florida.

Ha!  Small world.  I grew up there.  We used to go to Bono's all the time.

When my dad retired from the Navy in 1953 we settled in Jacksonville.  At that time there was only the original Lou Bono's BBQ place on Atlantic Boulevard (which had opened in 1949).  In 1980 Joe Adeeb bought the business and has expanded it into a small chain of 20 restaurants.  The one in Atlantic Beach is near my mother's home.  But I still remember going to Lou Bono's in the 1950s.  It was great pit barbeque.  Sadly, there is no Bono's in Miami where I currently live.

My local Fish and Chip shop makes a rockin burger... the great aussie tradition, the "Burger with the Lot":

Pattie
Cheese
Onion
Bacon
Lettuce
Tomato
Pineapple
Egg
Beetroot

There is NO best burger out in the marketplace anymore.

The trick is going to a butcher you can trust and asking for 75-80% lean ground sirloin.

I might be the only dude in Utah who digs beetroot.  Pickled (I buy the jar, dump the weak azz juice and replace with straight white vinegar) with cold chicken or tinned corned beef and plain potato chips.  It's my standard come-home-late-from-work-and-throw-something-together dinner.

But on a burger?

Made very similar burgers. We probably use 10-12 cloves of garlic in 24 oz. Excellent
