Ever Feel Like You Were Born In The Wrong Time Period?

I'm sittin' here rippin' some Buddy Holly into the McDuff computer and I just got to a thinkin' "man I just wasn't meant for this era", I'm either s'posed to be ridin' next to Josey Wales killin' the Red Legs, or sometime at the beginning of the rock period with Buddy, Richie, and The Big Bopper...Ok, but I don't do planes! Sometimes I feel lost here, I can tell you, you're my friends and I'm off my meds just yesterday. Mama...

I sometimes think I would have liked the 50s.
I used to want to live in the days of knights when I was a kid but when I got older I realised I would be brought up as a *feces* sweeper on a chicken farm or something.
So yeah, days of knights really for me.

My Grandfather was born in 1905 and died in 2000. I always am fascinated by what he saw and lived through during his time on earth. He used horse teams on the farm as a boy and watched GPS equipped monster tractors work the land before he died.
His time was cool just due to incredible changes of the 20th century.
But TFT's *feces*-sweeping days of knights is intriguing also.

I'd actually like to live in the days of Emperor Nasi Goreng when the Great Wall of China was built to see if it was really built to keep the rabbits out... there were too many rabbits in China...appearantly

I kind of wish I had been born in 2570 BC to see how those sum beyotches built the Great Pyramid of Giza. Of course, then I'd be dead right now, so that would kind of suck.

I'm with Fuzz. Like his grandfather, mine drove cattle from AZ to Montana when he was 13. He died at 84. He had some of the greatest stories I have ever heard. Glad I got some of them taped. What a cool era to live through.

Quite honestly, there's not another period of time i'd rather live in, but several I'd like to visit.

I'm thinking the time period after the next is the one. I understand pork tenderloin is going to be wicked cheap and of the highest quality.

That's great point too, everybody usually wants to say a time period from the past, I got thinkin' last night that about a hundred years from now might be ok, maybe we'll have gotten past this nasty warring and tribal conflicting, ok, maybe a thousand years from now. Fuzz and Steg bring up an interesting thought I've had for years. I also think that the folks who are in their 90's have seen just amazing things in their lives from horse and buggys to men on the moon and now computers that fit in your hand, and I wonder if I live that long if I will see similar advancements before someone nukes the place. Another thread another time maybe.
