Not to derail the stream of suggestions and insults, but ...

My interest is only partly borne of vanity.  For those select few of you who've gone out on the town with a truly and societally-adjudged Beautiful Woman on your arm, you cannot deny that there was a certain sense of pride in being seen with that trophy.  It validates us as men that we can go out and bag the big game, if you will.

Well, my wife wants to recapture that with me.  I told her it'd take far more than clothes.  She said we should just do what we can do.

So just to followup, did you ever pick up any new clothes?  It seems like Valentine's Day might be a good chance to break out a slick new sweater vest for a night out on the town with the wife. (and prove that the "clean sweep" was effective)

REI for everything else

LOL, cute REI story:

A couple of years ago I was looking for some 'convertible pants' (where you undo a zipper on each leg, and PRESTO! shorts) and went into REI.

I'm standing there looking at a couple of pairs, and the earnest young sales guy walks up.

I told him what I was looking for, and that what they had wasn't quite 'Dressy' enough, so he asked me what I wanted them for.

I told him to play golf in.

He looks at me and says:

'Oh, so you actually need something that  WORKS when your outside in the weather'...

ROFLMAO, I guess he was a little tired of dealing with the Sammamish Plateau crowd...

I shop at Mervyn's, and I'm actually pissed because they just closed all of them here.

I have three pairs of convertibles and I totally worship them. Of course I had to get them from the men's section..

I would be the resident metrosexual on this board.  My wife keeps me looking good.  Most all of my clothes come from specialty boutiques and not department stores.  I have a few Banana Republic or Dillards shirts for work.

For work:

Taylor Bird is my favorite, and my wife and family have bought me most of my nice work shirts.

Casual:

True Religion jeans (guys if you want to seduce your lady friend, you must buy a pair, they love them) James Jeans, LeCoste, Project E, Trunk, Puma etc and so forth

Every girl's crazy about a sharp-dressed man.. Cool

There is something about my he-man physique that does not agree with Banana Republic shirts.  Not sure if it's the broad, rippling shoulders, the bulging biceps, or the sagging middle-aged *whitemeat*s.

I save my slick sweater vests for Oscar Meyer Weinermobile outings.

Had a little shopping spree at BR, but two pairs of pants and being returned and a pair of jeans exchanged (wife spotted a flaw in them that I'd missed ... and I was not that particular flaw).

Work and family are dominating my time right now, so I'm just going around pantsless until the schedule loosens up.

That's right.  I'm her trophey husband.  Besides it gives me a contingency plan just in case it doesn't work out. Grin
