anybody have one? looking at the Bosch 250sx 6.4gallons per minute. you are supposed to be able to run 2 major things at once ie shower and dishwasher and so on.

mainly interested in getting rid of the 50 gal. tank and the gas it takes to repeatedly heat it. not to mention that with 2 adults, a teen and a pre teen we could use the endless hot water feature. Smiley

I have 2 Bosch/AquaStar 125's that I run in series, which gives me a total of 4.0 gpm@ 100Deg. F. temperature rise. This setup runs 2 fixtures easily.
The Bosch 250 is a beast, and I would dare say you could run at least 3 fixtures at one time with it.

If you are seriously considering it, make sure you get a complete description of what the venting requirements will be-the 250 requires an intake and exhaust vent. Also, ask if your current gas supply lines may have to be upgraded to handle the flow the 250 will demand.  You will need a 3/4" gas feed directly to the heater.

I have had the Bosch heaters for 6 years, now, and I am very pleased. They are not zero-maintenance, however, especially if you live in an area with hard, or highly mineralized water. Both my units have copper heat exchangers, which are easily de-scaled when they get crudded up. I believe the 250's have aluminum heat exchangers. Something to ask about.

I have been using one for the last nineteen years.  Running the washer and taking a shower (at the same time) is never an issue.  The tankless system is tied to my oil furnace. 

Works great, no concerns.

 One thing to consider is the fact that the colder the water comming in the more the heater cuts back the water going out to reach the required temp. I've installed a bunch and this is the only complaint I hear. It's a great system if you live in the right climate.

i stand in the shower and fart repeatedly.  it heats the place up nice, when combined with a nice overhead IR heat bulb.

of course, when I leave, I smell worse than when I went in.   but you can't have everything in life, can ya

this is part of the reason for going with the bigger unit. am i wrong in my thinking?
