The mystery FGI Marshall even made a special post warning of ejections if the personal attacks didn't cease. What was comical was that thread itself very nearly descended into an attack fest. |

The mystery FGI Marshall even made a special post warning of ejections if the personal attacks didn't cease. What was comical was that thread itself very nearly descended into an attack fest. I didn't notice your encounter with MFAWG (who is every bit as rabid as anyone there) and azcowboy (who, to date, is something of an enigma to me). I do know the FGIMarshal "warning" was in direct response to my telling Ringer in no uncertain terms that I think he's got the intellect of a troglodyte. I've shared some PMs with FGIMarshal, and I'm having a tough time figuring out who s/he is. I have a mild suspicion that it's Persimmon. The genikopti theory has been thrown around too, but FGIM knows my name (s/he uses it in our correspondence) so I'm guessing it's either someone I've established a rapport with (thus the Persimmon suspicion), or it's someone who has been paying very close attention.l |

Not really trying to be mysterious so much as test the waters. I wasn't "invited" here. Rather came across it by chance, so am somewhat of a "secret party"crasher.
Anyhow, have had my share of run ins, issues and regrettable posts at FGI, but think such things are all in the past. Hopefully you Golhos charter members won't mind me hanging around.
So without further ado...'tis I, maf19 of FGI.
Awesome! I'm glad to see you here. I think this place becomes a stronger place with people that have diverse opinions. As for P&R, I thought the early days of that section were actually interesting and educational. People seemed to have respect for each other and actual converations took place over there. Now, it seems like the main goal is to be divisive, even though I bet most of the participants have more in common than they'd like to admit. Regarding "invitation-only", this place is definitely not intended to be like that. In fact, one of the reasons for starting this forum was to have a place that was open to everyone who wanted a friendlier place to hang out on the side. Not to be exclusive, secret, or invitation-only at all. Finally, in a weird way I also kind of look at this place as a little bit of a fresh start in that over at that other place, it was very easy to get sucked into the bickering and drama. I admit to getting into stupid arguments and overreacting to things that seem trivial now. Anyway, it's good to see you here.  |

I think that genikopti sometimes is FGIMarshal because of some of the non-American spellings (colour, etc.), as well as some female-sounding phrases. But I suspect there is another person acting as FGIMarshal that is an old-timer. |

Clicking applaud/smite adds or subtracts to someone's karma. I think that it's supposed to indicate the goodwill someone has on the forum or how much they contribute. I could see it being abused, though, and becoming a popularity contest among cliques. I'm hoping that on this site, that it could be useful if someone were to join here and start annoying members. If they had a strong negative karma, maybe they would get the hint that they're bugging people, or it would indicate to me that the forum might be better off without them and they should be booted. It's weird, though, I thought that you could only applaud/smite someone to a person once per your account, but it looks like you can add to another person's karma everyday if you wanted to. I might tweak that in the future if it gets abused. spaceage appears to be some sort of a karma monster so far. |

I've had several personal(email) conversations with Persimmon. I can say with certainty that he NOT FGIMarshal. Which only leads to the enigma. I was pretty sure it was Genikopti, but now, I'm not. FGIM, hs also signed an email or two to me with: T. ps To further the t/j..Welcome Maf. Whenever I see that i always think...."Hey 19,....." Then for the next 20 min.s I sing Steely Dan tunes in my head. I dig the A. V. though. Show about nothin' is one of my all time fav.s  |

The "T" is an interesting clue, and matches up with something I saw in the past.
I think I read a post by 360flip that speculated that FGIM was tlkerer. Flip is a member here at GolfHos, but I'm not sure he comes here much to be able to confirm this.
I did a trade once with tlkerer and exchanged some emails with him. He's a great guy, and if he is in fact FGIM, I feel bad for criticizing the marshal so vehemently in the past. For a while, I thought FGIM was just some random dude from Active, but I don't think that anymore.
