Maybe I'll have to have a few when I'm in Vegas next month.
Did I miss a memo??!! Nope, just a convention I attend every year. Usually it's right around St. Patrick's Day, but this year it's the last week of April. let it all ride on 4 corners 23,24,26,27!!! (Aske refuses to be held liable if you lose it all. he also demans 10% if you do win it )

(Aske refuses to be held liable if you lose it all. he also demans 10% if you do win it ) I don't usually gamble in Vegas, hard to find tables with low enough stakes, at least anywhere near the strip which is where we always end up staying. I usually play some 21 when we pass through Mesquite, but I'm flying this year. I'm staying at my friend's place for a few nights after the convention, and he might drag me out to one of those "locals only" type casinos. Even so, I can guarantee that I will not be playing anything outside of 21 and maybe a little craps if I get drunk enough.

Sweet! My wife would never let me go to that convention. Trust me, we work as hard as we play. (Well, almost. But the playing makes the working all that much harder, if you catch my drift.)

Ooh, it's very exciting! It's called Medtrade, and it's a convention of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) manufacturers, suppliers, and dealers. I get to sit in marketing seminars and legislative updates for hours at a time. After that they've got a huge display floor of all the newest DME gizmos- shower chairs, commodes, hospital beds, bidets, power wheelchairs, canes, oxygen equipment and supplies, CPAPs, you name it! You're envious now, right?

I tried once, but I think I was doing it backwards because all I ended up with was severe intestinal cramping and a mouth full of water.

It is pure conceit to believe the we puny humans can have any effect on or control over something like a entire planets weather. Global Warming Theory proponents remind me of Snake oil salesmen. "Don't pay no mind to the facts folks, just watch our neat little movie." ozone layer depletion? nuclear winter? rivers / lakes that no longer sustain life because of industrial pollution/toxification ? hunting species to extinction ? strip mining ? worldwide chemical/biological weapons based terrorism? etc etc etc yup, humans can't do anything on a global scale to impact the earth

regarding the Mars story, LMAO there are far more studies showing solar irradiance has DECREASED than increased in the last few years (but let's assume it's increasing, just for kicks). mars thermal inertia.... combined with the fact that Mars is typically 220,000,000 km from the Sun, Earth is 150,000,000 from the sun.... radiation power descreases with the square of distance..... and that Mars has an atmospheric CO2 pressure of about 6 millibar and the earth has an atmospheric CO2 partial pressure of about 3.5 millibar ... it's no wonder nobody agrees with that kook. Oh, and ... umm... right now it's summer on the South Pole of Mars.
