Nor I. 

The mouse is a metaphor for what?  Your finger.  Pointing, tapping, dragging, etc.  The mouse extends the thing you'd normally use to do those things. 

How well does the eye work for those same things?  Not at all.  It's imprecise and not at all natural.  The mouse in some form or another is with us forever.
