As a youth, I wanted to be an Astronaut. After seeing the Astronauts walking on the moon, I thought that was what I wanted to be.
Suffice it to say, that didn't work out.

At 11 and 12, I wanted to be Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum) in the Man from U.N.C.L.E. I wanted to conduct spy and counter-intelligence operations and assist Napoleon Solo save the United States.
After growing up an seeing how government really works.... well.... let's just say that I'm glad it didn't happen.

I wanted to be an architect. I took three years of drafting (including an architectural drawing class) in high school. I'm not sure why I gave it up. I used to think it had something to do with the attitude of the drafting teacher, but that was just an excuse. It was probably some idiotic teenage reasoning that kept me from going on.
I never pursued it after high school.
But, if I had studied architecture. I wouldn't have gone to Michigan State and never met my wife. So I guess it all worked out okay.

Let's see, at about 8 or 9, I wanted to be an elementary teacher. By about 12, I started preferring mathematics and sciences. So then what I wanted to be changed (only slightly) to teaching high school mathematics and/or sciences.
And, as you all know, I'm not doing either right now.

I always wanted to be either a Forest Ranger or Fish & Game Officer. For monetary reasons only, I am glad I pursued a different career path.

I don't even remember being twelve, let alone what I wanted to be.
However, it was probably something different than this.

At 12 I wanted to build rockets. I held onto that dream longer than I should have, and got an Aerospace Engineering degree. But 3/4 of the way through college, I had talked to enough people in the industry to know not to get involved. I still finished the degree anyway as a tip of the hat to a foolish, idealistic kid, but changed my focus/obsessions toward working on computer games (guess I hadn't matured much ) I worked in the games industry for a couple of years before I realized how crappy it was, got out, and never looked back. And where are the clowns Quick send in the clowns Don't bother, they're here.

The answer is a big fat NO!!!! I never got to folllow my dreams!!! You see, I couldn't decide if I wanted to join Charlies Angel's, solve crime, wear great clothes, and have great hair, or join forces with Jamie Sommers, maybe get a bionic leg or two, and help save the world!!!!
