Of course you can.  I enjoy your humor, and for my personal taste, the drier the better.

My post was basically a rhetorical, somewhat satirical, social commentary, albeit a poorly constructed one, on the dumbing of America.  Mixed with my own upbringings, and shortcomings.

Your response just struck a chord, one all too familiar, though no fault of your own, of the corrections of minutia I hear daily from my 8 year old.

"C'mon!  It's 7 o'clock already!"  followed by "No it isn't.  It's 6:58".

So, you we're right.  It is 6:58, and I am not smarter than a 5th grader.

I completely understood your post, and rofl!!! about the chord my post struck.  I used to (still do) bug my dad by doing the same thing and various other things.  Kids love to bug their parents. Cheesy

And, truly, it's not that you aren't smarter than a 5th grader; it's just that as you have matured (at least, I hope you have matured since your childhood days Wink ), your thought processes have matured, too.  In mathematics, 5 and up round up, 4 and down round down, etc.  Rounding numbers is one of the things that becomes more automatic over time, and it's totally okay to do so.  Kids, on the other hand, like to be very specific.
