Not a dig on anyone here or anywhere else. I actually saw all three versions in cards at Target yesterday.
This is a day for all mothers so I'm down for #3.

On Topic: My vote is for whichever is the plural of all those that are mothers, for this is their day to be recognized collectively.

Both "Mothers' Day" and "Mother's Day" make sense. On the one hand, it's a day set aside to celebrate all mothers. However, I always write "Mother's Day" because it's specific to and for my mother. And besides, calendars declare it as "Mother's Day".  |

To me, it's a day to celebrate my specific mother, so Mother's Day. (I agree w/ E-A-G-L-E)
It's also a day to celebrate my grandmother, but she still gets card for "Mother's Day", not "Grandmother's Day".
