At the risk of a serious smiting...
« on: May 14, 2007, 04:40:28 PM »

I've been wondering if the recent influx of females and notable screen names (Julie/Wishicouldhit excluded) is a result of them actually being interested in golf or whether the site came up whilst searcing for "ho's".  I know there are some women that get into some freaky things on teh interweb.....

Just wondering...

Interest in golf, interest in freaky things.

Either way, I vote yes for inclusion into our community.

I wasn't suggesting we exclude them... I was just thinking that some might be here under false pretences,... unless there's something going on here that I don't know about Wink

..and if there is... where do I sign up??

They might be spammers.  I'm not sure yet.

Somebody please tell me, "what do these spammers do"?

I see all these names, and nothing happens!!  Is it because Dys deletes them, or what???

I usually delete the new accounts that are obviously spammers (they often have similar emails or look like they've originated from the same place).

I leave the ones that could be real alone. I'd hate to make the mistake of deleting an account of a real person that wanted to join, so I tend to err on the side of doing nothing.

If you google some of the unusual new usernames, sometimes you can see that they've registered at several other forums and have not posted anything, so they're likely accounts created by an automated script.

We had one spammer here recently that created an account in February, and didn't start creating spam threads until months later.
