Sorry Seamus but 7I-PW and you're in the water. Rememer the big pond. I've been really good lately at hitting 200-220 off the tee and then a nice iron but this hole still plays games with me.

blah, blah, blah......

When we played it,

You smoked a tee shot to the edge of the *feces*, hit a wedge in tight, and 2 putted.

I made it look like brain surgery.  Wink

hehehehe....oh yeah. I remember.   Grin
Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn from time to time. I bogeyed it today.  Tongue

I'm really trying to make this hole my bitch instead of the other way around.

#10 at Maplewood, 510 yard par 5, 'Dogleg' left.

It's  only a 'Dogleg' because the teebox is lined up on the left treeline, and that treeline is only about 20 feet wide with the cartpath and a freeway to the left of that. The fairway's one of the narrowest on the course, and while it sounds like it would favor a fade, it really doesn't. The landing area's maybe  25 square yards,  and then you contend with the creek running down the right side to to exactly 100 yards out, where it goes 45* left across the fairway.

Then there's the green, which is huge, but it's an upside down L with a bunker in the corner of it. I put my approach on there the other day, and couldn't see the hole from where I was at. The closest I could get from 30 feet was 8 feet or so, unless I chipped or hit the mythical Masse Putt.

It's the product of a redesign a few years ago, and it definitely has a 'Hammered In Feel' architecturally speaking.

It's followed by 11, which is a 410 yard par 4, uphill for the approach. 12's (170 yd par 3) no bargain either. If I can get through 'OhSh*tCorner' 3 or 4 over, I'm having a good day.

#3 at Wingpointe is nasty, but my nemesis is #8. 143 yd Par 3, water in front, and left. A bunker in back and more water behind that. Long native grass everywhere else. It's actually a pretty harmless hole all the way around (#17 on the course) but it kills me nearly every time. I think I've hit the green all of twice in the entirety of all the rounds I've played there.

#12 at my course is much like this, water left, bunker mound and landscaping right - but from 192 yards.  Doesn't really seem all that hard, but boy do I screw the pooch when I play it.  Started out trying to play a cut to avoid the water... and ended up in the landscaping more times that I care to mention - pitching over the bunker to a green sloping towards the water  Fear .

So then I changed tactics and say fark the water - there is no water.... and pull or hook em right into it.  Lost more balls in that water than all other places on the course combined  Censored

Yes - I have a nemesis hole alright.
