Can you be more specific about what kind of unit you're talking about?

Um. I don't really know. I just want something to put in the car to tell me when to turn right and stuff like that. I'm inclined to go with a Garmin something or other (since I use a Garmin eTrex Venture for backpacking and I like it) but have no intimate knowledge of the products offered and by whom. Suggestions/advice appreciated.

I have a Garmin Zumo 550, which is one of their motorcycle-specific units. You could use it in a car (I have), but it's probably not ideal compared to other units out there. Garmin is widely regarded as the user-friendliest GPS on the market. Make sure you think about whether you need an internal battery, as some are not so equipped.
And I think there was just recently a thread on this very subject in the FGI Clubhouse.

You're married, right? It's prolly just me, but I don't get those things. I can't think of any time I would go somewhere, that I don't know how to get there. (save that one time going to meet Fuzz, but for me, it just doesn't happen that often. )
