Heh, the line wasn't too bad. I thought about going earlier today, but we're having plumbing problems in our house, so I spend most of the day trying to snake drains. After reading about east coast stores still having lots of stock, I decided I could just show up anytime.
The launch happened at 6pm, and at 6:45 I went to one AT&T store that had a huge line, so I tried another store, and got in line at 7:10. It was about 20 people at that time. Just after I got in line, they announced the 8G models were sold out, and the line dropped to about 12. The computers were slow in the AT&T stores, overloaded. I left with a phone at 7:35.
I'm still waiting for the damn things to activate, but the design is very impressive.
