Gleek, what's your schedule like during the next homestand?  In the immortal words of Fuzzy... "I have an alcohol fueled idea"...

Add his 9 post-season HR's (which I have never been able to figure out why they don't count) and he already surpassed the record..

because official records have to be on an even basis, same # of games.

Not to really argue, because I honestly could care less, but fair doesn't really play into it. I understand how official records are kept, but that part makes no sense. One league has a DH and one does not, so should the records for pitchers be kept separate with no overall record? After all, maybe I break that strike out record because I picthced against pitchers my entire career. Those extra 'easy' outs count just as much as striking out a good hitter. Maybe strike outs against pitchers shouldn't count? Additionally, HOF votes definately take into consideration post-season play.  It doesn't make sense, if he hit them, he hit them. In my mind, he already brroke the record. Again, don't really care, I'm just sayin'.

No worries..

I'm with Aske -- Bonds will wait until he gets home before breaking (maybe even meeting) the record, unless he starts to run out of home games.  He did it before with prior, more minor, records.
