I'm a little surprised at ESPN's dig at The Franchises legions of slack jawed yokel fans, although the bitterness of losing the series when it was it's height may still linger in the halls at Bristol...

Car number are almost always the property of the car owner, and are always the subject of much back room politicking and outright bribery.

81 was last used by John Andretti, but Kenny Wallace ran it for several years.

It's not a storied number by any means.
