This is the elitiest, lefty lib answer that would have won the pageant: The reason 20% of U.S. Americans can't find the U.S. of America on a map is because of the egocentric attitudes prevalent within this country. U.S. Americans have even Bogarted the term "American" such that most of the world doesn't even recognize Canadians and Latin Americans as inhabitants of the Americas. Yes, the term "Bogart" has a drug connotation, and I freely admit that I smoke some herb from time to time. Regardless, I think one way to solve this problem is to do away with maps completely. First of all, what a waste of natural resources! If you need to find directions, just type the address in Google Maps. Google Maps zooms down to street level for you. Who gives a *feces* where this country sits in relation to others? Aren't we all citizens of Planet Earth anyway? Why do we need borders? Imagine there's no countries. It really isn't hard to do. Thank you. |
