Russia has invaded a sovereign neighboring state and threatens a democratic government elected by its people. Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century.

in a word, yes.

better question would be, why when we have 130,000 military people there, is there a need for mercenaries to guard u.s. government workers?

women are like tornados. In the beginning there's a lot of sucking and blowing. In the end, the car's gone, the house is gone..

Already got 'swept under the rug', when Maliki backed off of pulling their license.

It's actually right around 175,000 troops, but the answer is:

Because it's way better to pay some mercenary 75K a year in taxpayer dollars than some Sp4 24K a year.

Mercenary's are private sector employees, and underwriting private enterprise with taxpayer dollars is a core Republican value.
