I'm guessing they probably spent days preparing that statement.  It's sad really how out of touch they are.

My son's friend has one of the first generation Zunes.  I'd have to say it would probably be just about the last product of its type I'd buy.  I don't understand how a company with that many resources can fail so miserably.  I think the Xbox is proof they are able to design good hardware.  Maybe that department has all the smart people.

Quite frankly, the Zune sucks. The sound quality is fine but not great, the menu navigation is clumsy and poorly designed, and the damn thing is huge. Not to mention that brown is about as appealing a color as the beige computer cases of last decade. As the nerds who designed it, it's got no **** appeal. Everything about it just screams "Apple is right, we have no style, and we are lame."

I'm dying for a strong competitor to the iPod, but M$ seriously laid an egg on the first generation Zune. Looking at the pictures, the 2nd generation appears to be slightly better, but only just.
