Some Costco shoppers can be a pain

I am sure we have seen the groups of 3 or more who shop Costco and all but one has a cart. The one immediately goes to checkout and reserves a spot for the others. It is a complicated system they use but is most aggravating. Yesterday, I had a new experience. There was a woman standing in line next to a cart that had 2 flower bundles in it. When I saw her I was 20 ft away and there was no one between her and I. I had some eggs and soup to purchase (holding the 2 items in my hands). I stood in line behind her. Waited for about 1/2 minute and then put them down on the conveyor belt. Woman and flowers were still in the cart ahead of me. That is when she went ballistic on me. She yelled that I was cutting in line in front of her and no way was I going to get away with it. She was yelling that I cut in line in front of her and her kid (he must have been 8 or 9). He was now in line behind me having pushed the flat bed cart full of stuff to join the line. Those carts are hard enough for adults to handle yet this thing was heavily loaded and the poor kid was trying to push and control it. Never saw him until that moment. I told the woman she was a real piece of work and that she was not pushing me out of the way. She kept yelling - I kept telling her she was a real piece of work. The costco workers tried to calm her down and take her next in the line. She kept on and on. One costco guy said that the 2 of us should learn to cooperate. I ignored it. I know I got in line with my goods long before the kid did with his cart. The woman actually tried to get in my face and I just looked down at her and said that it was a lousy way to utilize your kid. She yelled at me that he wanted to push the cart. Whole experience was unreal.  |

That sux. CousCous shoppers really piss me off at times. Apparently everyone knows it, and expects it. Case in point. I was up front about to get in line, but Karen hadn't made it up yet. I was holding two things, one in each hand. 3 young people came up behind me to wait in line. I turned and said, oh, jump up bud, the other half of me isn't here yet. He says really? Are you sure? I said yeah, rock on. The step up and put their stuff on the counter, as Karen is pulling up. They see her, and look at as to hesitate that I will rescind my offer now that she is here. I give them a nod and a smile, and he says thanks again. I go to the front of the store to grab some boxes. When I approach the line again the kids are all checked out, and the girl says we should get a box for this. I handed them one of mine. As they walk out the one guy says to the other two. Wow, nicest guy in the world. I have never seen any one act like that in here.
Too bad really.

I didn't even read the post. Costco sucks, WalMart worse, and it's all about the slackjawed yokels and stressed out soccer mommies that shop there.
This coming from a guy who spends a good deal of his summer hanging out with slack jawed yokels and neophyte tow truck drivers...

I hate that woman who looks at me, makes direct eye contact, and then cuts me off only to walk slower than I am. She's there every time I go to Costco.
I've run across this person and her friends. They stroll right down the middle of the parking lot outside the store obstructing traffic oblivious to the world around them. Luckily they are unaware of the porkchop-level rage building in my right foot as it sits on the accelerator with only my fear of going to prison keeping them alive. |
