I'm of two minds.
Both of the Blader progeny will be spending the night out, trick or treating over in other neighborhoods with friends. So an era has clearly passed, with that melancholy feeling you get from finding yet another talent you've developed over the years is obsolete.
But I'm also not necessarily looking forward to interruptions during what should be a rare, quiet night at home alone with the bride, which we might otherwise spend engaging in wild acts of copulation if not for all the doorbell ringing and so forth.

Our office used to go all out for Halloween. People would decorate their offices and dress up. Nothing like that today, and I'm relieved. I think I'm getting old. 10 years ago I was starting a different job and my first day at work happened to fall on Halloween. I decided to show up in costume anyway, but when I got there I was the only one.  |
