Excellent Teed.  I ran over to BB yesterday but they were out of A2s. Thought about Wal-mart this AM but decided to hang tight. I expect they'll go back up to at least $150 for the near term. I also think maybe the A3 will replace it at that price point next year. Since it's for upstairs I'll wait it out a bit. $100 player plus five free movies. Amazing really. The BD fanboys on AVS are falling all over themselves saying it means nothing more than Toshiba is desperate. Of course, the HD DVD fanboys have their own, sometimes ridiculous slant. Cast v. forged has nothing on blu v. red.  Those guys are crazy over there. I don't even venture into the blu v red wars. Get a grip it's a movie. I have both angles covered w/ my new A2 and the PS3 from last year. |

I have both angles covered w/ my new A2 and the PS3 from last year.
When (if) Blu-ray has a sub-$200 standalone player I'll jump in. There are those few Blu-ray titles that are must have. Ratatouille might be the best feature length animation ever produced. PotC, Cars, a few others. Enough to make it worthwhile at a reasonable price but not at $499. |

Just bought Transformers, 4 Brothers, Unforgiven, and Blood Diamonds. 5 freebies selected: Aeon Flux, Pitch Black, Swordfish, The Frighteners, and Troy. Any recommendations? i recommend you pick something other than troy and buy* troy Director Cut instead (better film, better picture, better audio) aeon flux is a bad movie that is probably the 2nd or 3rd best video quality film on hd-dvd. definitely a showoff the system disc. pitch black rules. get chronicles of rid*8==>* too (even if it's not as good) except for a clockwork orange, all the new kubrick films look amazing. especially the shining. anyways some must buys IMHO: lucky # slevin the 1st matrix (unforunately you gotta buy all 3 LOL) batman begins 300 bourne identity, supremacy (and soon ultimatum) serenity v for vendetta (probably the best audio disc out there) big lebowski movies that i absolutely loved but most people don't like the fountain children of men harsh times IMPORTS. equilibrium brotherhood of the wolf underworld 1,2 (better PQ than their bd counterparts) silent hill (better PQ than its bd counterpart) the prestige |
