Fantasy football advice
« on: November 02, 2007, 02:40:42 PM »

I have a pretty deep team especially at WR and can't decided who to start.  My league has a pretty standard point system but it does give a point per reception.

QB:  Payton Manning (only QB right now)     vs. NE
WR1: Reggie Wayne   vs.  NE
WR2: Wes Welker   vs.  Ind
RB1:  Marion Barber III (starting to get more carries)  vs.  Philly
TE:  Heath Miller  vs. Balt
W/T:  Joey Galloway  vs.  Arizona
W/R:  Marques Colston  vs.  Jax

Bench:
Lendale White  (a couple good weeks hard not to start) vs.  Carolina
Earnest Graham   vs.  Arizona
Dwayne Bowe      vs.  Green Bay
Lawrence Maroney ( [sm_disgust]crappy last pick of 1st round by me finally did decent last week but I've started many times only to get nothing)
Jeremy Shockey  bye
Ahman Green (possibly inactive)

So who makes the ho's starting lineup.  BTW, I'm in 3rd place and on a run lately.

I would have said the same thing last year actually.  But a friend invited me to play in his league this year and it is fun.  I'm now hooked.

You really only have 1 RB spot??  Yeah - should have drafted RB better with this limitation - not much room for error  Devil Wink

I'd put in Graham or Maroney in the flex spot rather than Colston.  RBs are better bets than WRs for the most part.

Actually, this is the first year of playing fantasy football in which I've found that middle to upper-tier WRs have produced numbers that are just about equal to middle to upper-tier RBs. With my league's scoring system (6 pts for TDs, 1 pt per 10 yd gain), there's only a 0.4 point difference between the top RB and top WR in average points scored, and there's a good mix of both RBs and WRs in the Top 15 list of RB/WR scorers.

The NFL is a very pass-happy league this year.

My league is the same way.  I've had a few weeks when every one of my WRs get a TD almost.  Last week Colston had 3 and and all the others had one.

RBs are hit and miss more so this year.

A lot of first round RBs have done nothing this year and besides I was last pick in the draft.  I did get Barber who has been one of the best.  And White has had 3 good games in a row.  Maroney hasn't done *feces* all year and I almost got AD first pick but oh well.  20/20 and all that.

My WR core is so good it is hard to start two RBs especially when most all RBs split carries in some fashion.  BTW I drafted Welker the last pick of the draft. Shocked

Whistle I had to drive home from work pick up some Peroni and smoke a little weed before I came up with that one.  Not really happy with the final draft though.  Could have been better.  Maybe

Alanis Moresette surrenders...I don't know

You can't come back with a comeback after an hour. You got twenty minutes. Thirty, tops. It's called a quip, not a sloooowwwwp.

Starting Colston over RBs because of last week........ may hurt ya.  He's done nothing prior to last week - nothing.
