We're not allowed to bag them. We just pile them in the street and they get hauled away.

Un-bagged?
Yes, unbagged. You'd think that they would blow all over the place but they don't, especially once they get wet. The upside is that it's better for the environment, and is probably a more efficient use of municipal resources since they plan it out and only have to do a pickup once in each neighborhood. The downside is that you often have a leaf (pine needles, mostly) pile in front of your house for a month since the leaves start falling long before they finish falling (especially in recent years with warmer temps for whatever reason you want to believe).

Mulch the leaves on the lawn and put straight in trash can.  I try and pile up all the other leaves and have a crew come once a year.  They take them all away on a tarp and don't use bags.  We have ass loads of leaves all over our property each year.  It would take me forever to get rid of them all.

So far, they're still there.

Plan on mowing one more time to get the first lot.  After that, I'll spread 'em thin with a leaf blower and call it winter.

Anybody ever use one of these?

They really are the shizzle.  Karen's brother has one, and we used it one year at our old house.  Just like vacuuming the carpet.  The suction is awesome, and shreds the leaves into dust.

If we move to house that has lots of leaves, I will buy one for sure.

Bag 'em and the city picks them up.  Turns them into compost.
