It promised a lot from the episode next week. Fingers crossed on it paying up. I reckon the cheerleader somehow had something to do with the bomb blast, maybe that explosion would have destroyed all of the world. If she stays saved, the world should be OK. Maybe when Sylar takes enough heads he implodes/explodes in the first time line. I'm off to ask Ramirez what would happen.  |

Last night's episode is taking a little bit of a beating in the entertainment columns for not really nicely wrapping up anything. Did anyone here feel gypped by it?
I grew up reading comic books and I recognize the "smaller story arc inside a larger story arc inside a much larger alternate reality" type style, so if I keep that in mind when watching the show, I don't expect any neat and tidy endings. At least you don't have to wait a whole month for the next "issue." I remember reading stories in comics that took 20 issues to wrap anything up, that's almost two years of the same story.
My understanding is that the writers/producers have already mapped out where they want the show to go over the next 5 years. Will enough people stay interested in the show for that to happen or are viewers going to start dropping off when they get tired of the fact that the story, like life, just keeps going?
Laura was a Lost addict for a couple of seasons, but now she's sorta meh about the whole show because it's moving too slowly and it's creating more questions than answers. She's loving Heroes right now, but I wonder how long she'll stay interested.
Thoughts?

I enjoyed last night's episode. The only problem I had was with the commercials/previews that suggested this was the episode you were waiting for, the one that answered many of your questions. Sure, we saw the cheerleader get saved, but they didn't explain what that had to do with saving the world.
I actually expect it to take much of this season to wrap up this story arc, there are just too many things going on right now to be wrapped up even in a couple of episodes. I expect the season climax happens in Manhattan as has been foretold.
I was annoyed at the Hiro/waitress storyline. That seemed like an unnecessary tangent at this point given all the other things already going on.
One thing that I hope Heroes has over other series' like X-files or Lost is that they don't need to drag this opening story out. They could devote the first season to showing how everyone discovers their powers and such, and the next season could be devoted to some other long-running story (like dealing with super-villains that start popping up, or something like that).

I'm a total LOST junkie, and I'm staying true. I'm pissed about this "hiatus", but I'll hang. I heard a radio interview, with one of the writers (he's from Minnesota) He says the whole "concept" is established. It's simply a matter of how much/long to elaborate. e.g. The Heny Gale plot was originally 1 show, but it "took" so well, they ran with it and played it over 5-6 shows. I like the concept. He says all all the emails he has recieved, no one has "pegged" it yet. I really felt slighted on Heroes. I felt, last night, I was sold a bill of goods, and in return got the bait and switch.............'cause apparently, next week.........all my questions will be answered.   It is a serial, I get that. They still haven't quite wrapped up the Luke and Laura thing either,(25+ years) but come on. .02 |

Weird, I just saw a commercial for Rocky Balboa, and it looks like Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli) plays Rocky Balboa, Jr. I did a double-take.
That movie looks bad..real bad.
