Ms. Olivia, my 6-year-old, used to love "Pretty, Pretty Princess."  Goal of said game is to be the one wearing all of the jewelry at the end of the game.  Yes, I've played it with her.  That game seems to have lost its allure.

Sounds like a typical Friday night at clive's place.

Hey, dys, this blogger lists Puerto Rico as #1 on his list too.

One other fairly-fun game that I remember from the 80s is Axis and Allies.

Cool, I've heard good things about Puerto Rico.  My biggest worry is that it's more for hardcore board gamers who play often instead of casual gamers.

I think one of the more appealing aspects of the game is that the average playing time is 90 minutes compared to 120 minutes for a game like Risk or 180 minutes for Axis and Allies.
