Another Silly Computer Question.
« on: December 30, 2007, 12:14:00 PM »

Everytime I log-on one of the little icons in the right hand corner, keeps saying that there is a new java update.
What is java.
What does it do to my computer.
Do I need it.

Please remember you need to put your answers in layman's terms, so I can understand them. Grin Grin Grin

Jules, java is a programming language.  Certain computer programs use it in the coding, and some websites also use it to run the applet they want.

It's good to keep it updated, but it is a huge download for a dial-up user.

The forum shortens the web addresses of sites that end in a parenthesis*, so the link he posted didn't direct you to that page.  Which means that if you want to read the link he posted, you would have to add the parenthesis to the end.

*To avoid that issue, you can put the link in between url tags.
