Favorite movie of all time. Or at least it ties with The Sting. I've probably watched it a dozen times.

Agree - really good movie IMO. Spacey is one of my favorites as well. Kevin Spacey is also very good.   |

I finally saw it for the first time a couple of months ago, great flick, love movies that twist you at the end. I finally get the Kaiser Sose joke. |

Funny story about the first time I saw this movie. I was in high school about 16 or 17 years old. I was hanging out with this girl kind of sort of dating and we decide to go to blockbuster video. I see this movie and it looks good, she agrees so we rent it and go home. So we start watching the movie and I'm mesmerized by how good it is. Literally on the edge of my seat watching this thing. The end comes and I'm like OMFG that movie kicked ass, totally didn't see that coming. Wow that movie was genius I could watch it again. The girl is like yeah it was nice.  Then I'm like WTF is my problem. Clearly the plan was to get a "movie" you know something for the background to mess around while pretending to watch. And I'm all like damn what cinematography and storytelling and *feces*. So like a dumbass I get a good movie and totally cock block myself. Then she's all, I'm tired. So I take her home. We remained friends but I ruined any chance I had of getting with that girl. Oh well, live and learn. A mistake I never made again I can tell you that. |

The first time I saw it, I went to the movies with some friends and they said "let's see The Usual Suspects." I said "what's that? I've never heard of it." They said "you know, the Kaizer Soze movie." I said, "okay, whatever." Then we watched it.
True story.
Oh yeah, and by the way, great *fudge*in' movie.

Top 5 movie for me.
I put this DVD on my Christmas list in 2006, and someone kindly bought it for me.
But when I unsealed the case, it had a freakin' "Get Shorty" DVD inside it. I'd never seen that happen before where a sealed DVD had the correct case, but the wrong DVD inside. I didn't know what to do with it since I couldn't return it. I think it's still sitting on the floor in the same room where I opened it, gasped, and let it fall to the floor in my hand Citizen-Kane style.

Yes, it's a great story, great acting. Knowing the ending will take away the Holy Chit factor but, even so, watching it play out is fantastic theater. |
