So my daughter took me to Las Vegas for the weekend. She picked this weekend because it was one week after the Superbowl and one week before a holiday weekend, thinking it would be slower than normal. WRONG! Couldn't get a reservation for dinner at Joe's Stone Crab until 9:30 PM at the earliest. Tried to find a 5.00 or, at worst, 10.00 blackjack table Saturday night, even at the "dives" there were none to be found. 15.00 tables were the cheapest and there were very few of them. The 25.00 tables were packed and you could barely find a seat anywhere at any casino. Paid 7.00 per beer  when we went bowling in the Rio. They can't all be foreigners. On the plus side, we did see Spamalot, very funny. |

man, i'd like to hit vegas someday Save up. Time was you could do Vegas on the cheap. It's getting harder and harder these days. Last time I was there I couldn't even find a 21 table for under $20/hand, not even on Freemont, and Craps was $10. And the $5.99 prime rib dinner is a thing of the past. Vegas sucks.  |
