Commuters who won't give up seats on public transport to pregnant women and the elderly are the new targets of a Beijing Government campaign to civilise the Chinese capital's residents before this year's Olympics. The 22nd of each month has been designated "Seat-Giving Day".

true story from the bus the other day

situation: bus front side-facing rows on each side labeled "reserved seating for special needs"  yada yada.  all seats full with semi-legitimate appearing people, all women in their 60s+ and one guy probably 55.  75-80 year old guy takes forever to get on, and (obviously) needs a seat ... starts whacking the 55 year old guy with his cane demanding his seat, the 55 or so  guy won't give it to him, shoves him away, and he falls over onto some people causing quite a stir- one of those fallen on claiming he tried to grope her   Laughing
