IMO, refurbished electronics are as good as brand new. When they refurb, it's not like they replace just a single blown IC. They replace the entire circuit board.

I once had to send my Sony (Grin) laptop back for warranty repair because of what seemed like a power issue. When I got it back, it had a new power supply unit, motherboard, and even a new CPU.

haha, i just re-read that.  can't believe nobody smacked me down (as they sell new for $90).    What I meant* was the 8GB model.

anyways, thanks everyone so far.  Considering the positive comments and the fact it has a 30day guarantee, and I could buy an extended warranty if i want pretty cheap,  I think I'll go for it.   $10/GB  isn't too shabby in such  tiny device.

Bought my daughter a Sandisk Sansa e250 2GB for Christmas. $39 for a unit that retails at $99.99 in the stores.

No regrets whatsoever and it's a terrific little unit. There is no way to tell the difference other that the "Refurb" sticker on the back. I would not hesitate good doctor.

Actually, IIRC you were the one who posted the link to Buy.com when they went on sale.  Cool

I'm possibly one of the few people who do not own or intend to purchase an IP-OD or similar device whether new or refurbished.

I was wondering if you were going to give me credit for that.
