I voted both as I have both and with my game it really doesn't matter.

Cast if I paid for it Forged if I am a pro and gears are given for free/they paid me to use theirs ditto. FWIW, talked to the club designer for Hireko awhile back. He says the forged vs cast debate is nothing but a bunch of internet egos going at it for nothing. There's really no performance difference, just in feel.

I did a side by side comparo of Maltby M05 and it's sister, the M06 which was the same basic design but cast in 403 with alittle more offset. Offset requires a slight thinning of the crotch (not such a bad thing if you are averse to fat crotches) but other than that they were close to identical.
The M05 sounded and felt softer and more solid on all hits. The M06 was slightly clatty at impact, especially off the toe. Performance was a wash....seemed to hit nearly the same. I might repeat the test with ear plugs as I suspect the sound at impact made all the difference.
Forged has always sounded/felt better to me. Placebo or not, I like forged. The 560's are exceptional.

My impression as well. Then again, I'm just a dyno-wannabe anyway. I asked Santa for some mad poon.

He's all aboot 'what I heard', not 'what I did'. An interesting test would be cast 304 vs forged carbon. I've hit Apex Plus vs the clone dealie from Techpower (slightly wider sole but nearly identical) and it was very very close. The Techpower was a tad softer but both again, hit very much the same.

Forgot to mention, the 304ss Hireko head I tried wasn't 304. You can distinguish a 304 head very easily on a loft lie machine.

Vote or die.
Voted hype. Irons cast with forged faces. How is that for middle of the road position?
