Ball In The Snow?
« on: March 19, 2008, 05:47:57 PM »

Don't laugh.  Not uncommon here in early spring.  Grin  Especially when the green is tucked in a circle of trees facing south.

Ball carries the back side of the green, rolls down, and finishes in an are of snow covered ground.

Ruling?  If I get a drop out of the snow, I'll take it but I'd rather play it correctly.

Seems I always end up playing with guys who say "Oh, rake it out of there, you don't have to hit it out of that.  Give yourself a decent lie." Same as last year when I posted about the cart path runoff, and my ball was in the hardpan dirt washout.  "Move it over on some grass.  You don't have to hit off that."

Snow and natural ice may be treated as casual water or a loose impediment.  Take your pick.  Either way, relief with no penalty is available.

Why are you putting your balls in the snow? Blue balls aren't enough, they have to be frozen?
