Yeah, there's no language filter at this point. I left it out to go along with the theme of "The Land of Do-As-You-Please" around here.

I need to look into how this feature works, though, as it might bother some people. I think it's an option that you can enable or disable for your individual account. That seems like the fairest way, to let people decide on their own.

If you choose to use a language filter, I can't imagine it will bother anyone too much. On the flip side, I can't honestly understand what difference it could possibly make to someone reading the word "*feces*" vs "sh*t." I don't think there's any real way to filter out the language, only a way to filter out the ability to type the entire word. JMHO.

Definitely don't filter yourself here. I think one of the things that might differentiate this place from FGI is that people should feel free to say whatever they want here including words that a few might find offensive.

The only reason that I brought it up was to look into what the forum can do just in case someone wants to join but is turned off by obcenities. In that case, they have the filter option available.

Now I'm going to go back to watching the *goshdarn* steelers game....

This filter lets you pick which words you want filtered and what you want to replace it with.

For example, it's currently set to replace s.h.i.t with *feces*, while I was testing it out. If someone here actually cares about this, I'll let them pick which words to censor and what they'd like to replace them with.

If you're curious, you can try it by unchecking:
Profile -> Look and Layout Preferences -> Leave words uncensored
