Do one of those ctrl+alt+del dealies and see if you have any particular processes sucking a bunch of memory. Also, check tension on scrolling belt.

Seems to be the same on IE. Sad  That sux0rz.

Will try Spankers' hard wire test later.

FWIW  My WiFi car is just "G"  Any chance it'll be faster with another card?

Again - forget the wire test - that ain't it.  Memory my boy - memory - particularly display/video memory.  Respond to the angry geek with your specs  Wink

Cool.  Sorry, I was out of the loop last night.  Don't have it a work today either, but I'll get back to you tonight.  What do you want me to look up?

I agree with others that it doesn't sound like the wifi card.  Does it make a difference if you use the laptop right next to the wireless router instead of far away?

G should be fine.  Even B isn't that bad.  I'm surprised you needed a card and the laptop didn't have wifi built-in.

What happens if you right-click on your desktop, click Properties, select the "Settings" tab, and try a lower setting under "Color Quality"?  Does that make any difference in the scrolling?

Ok.  I kinda thought so(card).  I tried the color management thing, and it did speed it up a bit, but it puts a black box on the cursor and some other things.  Not sure if I can live with that either.

Well, I'm not the angry geek - that would be the lad from p-burgh  Wink

However, I'd bet he's looking for memory in the system - Task Manager -> Performance -> Physical Memory -> those three numbers.  And display memory - .... uh, can't remember - sorry, and this is probably the more important one  Embarrassed.

Right Click on "My PC"
mouse down and click Properties
A Box should open
Click the 'General Tab'
At the bottom right it should say  the processor clock speed and the amount of RAM

Post those

then click the 'Hardware Tab'
click the Device Manager button
a new window should open with a nested tree list
Click the + box next to 'Display adapters'  to expand it
it should list the manufacturer and model # of your video card

Post this.

Right Click on the desktop
mouse down and click Properties
Click on the 'Settings' Tab
Click on the 'Advanced' Button
Click on the 'Troubleshoot' Tab
Read how far your hardware acceleration is set

Post this.

Mobility Radeon 7500
(at first, there was no "display adapters"  Just a VGA video, with unknown manufacturer.  I clicked troubleshoot, and search for new driver.  It did, and updated with the latest.  I thought OK this is it.  Got on line, and still the same laggy venetian blind scroll) But now I have an updated video card with driver.
