Said goodbye last night
« on: April 09, 2008, 05:41:32 AM »

to a co worker and good friend. She was my counterpart in Manufacturing (I'm in Engineering). She was a former Navy Chopper pilot and we would swap sea stories once in a while. However she was into football and basketball so we usually talked about that. She collects football cards and gets boxes of them all the time. She gave me a bunch of her duplicates because she knows my oldest is into football big time. Over the years we developed a friendship very much like brother and sister, I do not have a sister so I don't know what it really is like but our friendship is what I imagine it to be like.

Yesterday was her last day. I didn't get to see her much as I was busy and she was getting ready to leave, say goodbyes, etc...

Last night we had a going away party and it was fun, but hard. My other friend (another woman and as Darla likes to refer to her as my work wife) was having a really hard time with it as the two of them have become real good friends. We were the last ones there and saying goodbye finally was really hard. No I didn't cry but on the way home I did get choked up.

She really was a good friend and I am going to miss her.

 Cry

 Sad

Is she moving away? i.e.  you probably won't see her again?

Not moving away, took another job here in town. I'll be able to keep in touch but it won't be the same.
